Information
Health Insurance is mandatory for all registered international students and a condition of enrollment. Arizona State University requires verification of all required immunizations. Arizona State University requires that international students have adequate medical and accident insurance coverage. International students with an F1 or J1 visa will automatically be enrolled in the ASU Student Health Insurance. There is a special provision to waive the mandatory ASU insurance for students who have health insurance including those through their government or who are under the sponsorship of an agency that is responsible for their educational expenses, including medical coverage.

Students with existing health insurance which meets these requirements may submit a request to be waived from the mandatory ASU student health insurance. Waivers must be submitted each semester before the end of the second week of classes. To submit the waiver request, click on the link below and follow the steps:
  1. Visit Aetna Student Health waiver page.
  2. Answer all questions.  Do not leave any questions blank.
  3. Submit the waiver form by the deadline.
  4. Submit waiver requests every semester (Fall & Spring).
For Student Immunization information please visit Immunization Requirements for New Students at Arizona State University.

Please call ASU Health Services at 480-965-3349 or visit the Health Services International Student webpage for more information.
