Information
Please use one of two methods listed below when requesting permission into the class. In either case students MUST obtain instructor’s permission and submit the SOA Override Authorization Form by filling out the online request form.
  1. Contact the instructor directly when the instructor’s name is listed:
    1. Contact the course instructor via email with the student’s written request, including the reason for needing an override. Faculty directory is linked to the instructor's name in the class search.
    2. Fill out the course override request online through this link: School of Art override form and attach the faculty approval email
    3. Allow 1-2 business days for processing. Students will be notified by the School of Art via email when the student has permission to register. After the 2nd business day, if the student has not received an email, please follow up with the School of Art by sending an email to SOAAdmin@asu.edu

  2. When the instructor’s name is NOT listed in the class search:
    1. Early in the enrollment cycle art classes may have “Staff” listed in place of the instructor’s name.  In such cases, student needs to contact the School of Art directly by sending an email to SOAAdmin@asu.edu who will direct the student to a faculty member who is authorized to issue the override. Once the student has that information, please follow the method explained above.
