Information
Follow the steps below to apply for a Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan.
  1. File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
Note: After ASU receives your FAFSA and you have completed all Priority Tasks on My ASU, you will automatically be awarded a Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan. The amount is usually your estimated cost of attendance minus any other financial aid awarded.
  1. Following your Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan award, sign in to My ASU to accept your loan. Once signed in, you will be able to select an aid year and the Grad PLUS Loan will appear.
Note: Accepting a Federal Direct Graduate PLUS loan will initiate a credit check and automatically submit a loan application to the U.S. Department of Education. If this is your first time borrowing a Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan or if a financial endorser was required on a previous Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan, you must complete a Federal Direct PLUS MPN.

All Graduate PLUS Loan funds will be disbursed to you through Electronic Fund Transfer and will be applied toward your outstanding charges no earlier than seven days prior to the start of each semester.

Any remaining funds will be disbursed to you via paper check or direct deposit (if enrolled) to your personal bank account. If you are a fall/spring student, funds will be disbursed half in the fall and half in the spring. If you are attending one term, you may be eligible to apply for a single term loan.
