How Do I Complete the Master Promissory Note?

Information
In order to receive a subsidized or unsubsidized loan for the first time at ASU, you must complete a Master Promissory Note. The MPN is a legal document in which you promise to repay your loan(s) and any accrued interest and fees to the U.S. Department of Education. It also explains the terms and conditions of your loan(s).

The MPN should be completed online at studentaid.gov. You will need to log in with your FSA ID. It takes approximately three to five business days for ASU to receive the electronic confirmation that you have successfully completed the MPN. If more than five business days have passed since you completed the MPN and the requirement is still showing on My ASU as a Financing Task, there may be conflicting information that needs to be resolved. For example, supplying the wrong Social Security number or date of birth on the MPN.
