How Do I Get a FSA ID?

Information
You can create an FSA ID when logging into certain U.S. Department of Education websites: Follow the steps below to create your FSA ID:
  1. From any website listed above, click the link to create a FSA ID.
  2. Enter your login information. Provide your email address, a unique username, password and verify that you are at least 13 years old (due to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act). Then, click continue. Hint: write down this information and keep in a safe place for future reference.
  3. Enter your personal information. Provide your Social Security number, full name and date of birth. Then, click continue.
  4. Enter your mailing address, email address, telephone number and language preference. Then, click continue.
  5. For security purposes, provide answers to five challenge questions. Then, click continueHint: write down this information and keep in a safe place for future reference.
  6. Submit your FSA ID information. Review your information and agree to the Terms and Conditions. Then, click continue.
  7. You will receive an email that contains a secure code that you must enter back into the ED website. If you’re accessing your email via the web, make sure to open a separate browser window.
