How do I get an institutional recommendation for my teacher certification?

Information

During the final semester of your student teaching, the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College Certification and Compliance Office will email you information about receiving your Institutional Recommendation (IR).  You will also receive information about applying for your teacher certification. Be sure to check your ASU email and stay in contact with your advisors. 

Undergraduate Degree and Undergraduate Certificate students must:

  • Successfully complete all required coursework with grades posted on your DARS report
  • Complete concurrent degree or minor (where this applies)
  • Apply to graduate

Graduate Degree and Graduate Certificate students must:

  • Successfully complete the teacher certification portion of your degree, which includes student teaching
  • Apply to graduate (only if completing a master’s degree at the time you are receiving your IR)
