Information
Federal Work-Study award estimates are generally offered as part of your financial aid package. To be eligible for FWS:
  1. complete a FAFSA
  2. be eligible for need-based aid
  3. meet the Standard Student Eligibility Criteria
  4. enroll at least half time at ASU (undergraduates = 6+ credit hours; graduates = 5+ credit hours)
FWS estimates appear on the Financial Aid Notification on My ASU. In order to activate the FWS award, you need to apply to and be hired into a FWS job. If you have not been offered a FWS award, you may still be eligible and may request a FWS award by submitting a Federal Work-Study Adjustment Form to Financial Aid and Scholarship Services.

To be eligible for summer FWS:
a) enroll in classes for the summer term AND have a valid FAFSA for the current academic year on file with ASU AND be eligible for need-based aid
OR
b) if you are not enrolled in classes for summer, you must be enrolled at least half-time for the upcoming fall AND have a valid FAFSA for the current academic year on file with ASU AND be eligible for need-based aid AND have a valid FAFSA for the upcoming academic year on file with ASU AND be eligible for need-based aid

Note: FWS earnings during this time of non-enrollment will be considered as a resource for the next enrollment period, which could affect financial aid awards/eligibility for the upcoming academic year.
