How do I set up and access the SEVP Portal?

After your OPT application has been approved by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), you will receive an email from at your ASU Public Email address. The subject line will be “Optional Practical Training Approval.” A link will be provided in the email for you to set up your SEVP Portal account.
Please note:

  • You must access the initial set up email within 31 days of receiving it.

  • The link contained in the email is for one-time use only.

  • To set up the account, you must log in with the Public Email listed on your My ASU Profile.

  • After you have successfully set up your account, the SEVP Portal can no longer be reached through the setup link. You will need to go to
