Information
ProctorU is a live, online proctoring service for taking tests in Blackboard classes. You will talk with a real person, who will watch you take your online test.

To use ProctorU, please follow these steps at least five days before a test:
  1. Create a ProcturU account, you may watch a video of the account setup process.
  2. Review the technical requirements and test your computer before taking a test.
  3. Complete the pre-exam checklist.
  4. Your Blackboard class will show when the test will be open, and for how long. Schedule time to take your test with ProctorU at least four days before the test date in Blackboard (login with your ProctorU account, not your ASURite ID).
  5. You will be charged a $5 late fee if you schedule your test within 72 hours of the start time.

Exam Day

  1. Please visit ProctorU Test It Out to check your equipment prior to your test appointment.
  2. Be sure you are in a well-lit, quiet and private room. The lighting of your room must be daylight quality, and overhead lighting is preferred. If overhead lighting is not possible, please make sure that your light source is not directly behind you because it will make it difficult for your proctor to see you.
  3. Please have your SunCard (ASU photo ID) ready.
  4. Please bring a reflective surface such as a CD, DVD or mirror. This is so you can show the edges of your monitor to your proctor.
  5. Please close all programs, applications, and websites that do not pertain to the exam.
