How to Use VoiceThread in Blackboard

VoiceThread is a collaborative, interactive, multimedia slide show that holds images, documents, and videos.

VoiceThread lets you navigate through the video and leave comments in four ways:

  1. Using voice (with a microphone or telephone)
  2. Text

  3. Audio file (for VoiceThread Pro users)

  4. Video (via a webcam)

You and your instructors can:

  • Upload, share and discuss documents, presentations, images, audio files and videos.

  • Comment on VoiceThread slides using a microphone, webcam, text, phone, or audio file upload.

  • Keep a VoiceThread private, share it with specific people, or make it public for the entire world.

Troubleshooting

Incorrect Password

VoiceThread is a third-party service. You need to create a separate account and password.

To reset your password:

  1. Go to the Voicehread website

  2. Click on Sign in.

  3. It will ask for your Username/Password.

  4. Click on Need password?

Java/Flash Issues

VoiceThread uses Java/Flash to load and run properly. Make sure Java/Flash are updated to their latest versions to ensure it works correctly.
