Information

If you are currently experiencing an issue where email from a trusted sender including some @asu.edu emails are going to your ASU Gmail Spam folder, please see instructions below on how to add a filter for such an email in Gmail to rectify the issue:

1.  Log into your ASU Gmail Email Account.

2.  On the left pane select Spam (you may have click More to expand the folder options).

3.  Find the spam email and click on the email to open it for reading.

4.  Click on the drop down button by the reply and select Filter messages like this.

5.  Click on Create filter with this search on the bottom right.

6.  Under When a message arrives that matches this search, select the checkbox next to Never send it to Spam.

  • Optionally you can select Also apply filter to matching conversations
Note: The filter does not apply to already spam or deleted messages

7.  Click on Create filter button.

8.  After the filter has been created, you can choose to move the current email from the Spam Folder by selecting Not Spam.

9.  Future messages from this sender will be sent to your inbox instead of Spam folder.

10.  The following steps above will need to be done for any messages you deem as not spam.
